Reacting to my Myers-Briggs Personality Type

Personality tests are one of my favorite things to do. In this post, I reacted to my personality type.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a self-assessment tool used to indicate a person’s personality type. These preferences affect how a person perceives the world and make decisions. There are 16 possible results and these are the combinations of 4 types: Extraversion Vs. Intraversion; Sensing Vs. Intuition; Thinking Vs. Feeling; Judging Vs. Perceiving.

Fun fact about me is that I love personality tests. I love learning about myself and understanding how I could relate to other people. I reacted to my results below! 🙂

I agree! I believe that there is good in every person. I live by the mantra, “Always see the good in people”. There have been many instances in my life where I’d rather understand people who have wronged me instead of getting back at them by revenge.
I would normally be quiet in most situations, especially if i’m surrounded by crowd or people I am not comfortable with and I think that’s one of the reasons why i’m perceived as shy or boring. In cases when i’m being reprimanded, I tend to just not give any reaction and be misunderstood when in reality, I just do not want to fuel the anger of another person.

I have many that I consider as friends but I keep a few that I truly trust and no matter how far we are from each other, they know that they have a friend in me. These are the people who know me so well and holds a lot of my secrets.
Other people’s feelings always comes first for me and I also have this weird skill that I can read people’s motives and most of the time I am correct. It is bizarre but it is what is. Social interactions drain me and I would rather stay at home or hang out with a few friends than go out partying and connecting to a bunch of people. Basically, I am a grandma. Lol.

This is true. I loathe stress but who doesn’t right?! I am constantly on the hunt for a career that would give me the kind of stress that I will gladly do because I love what I am doing rather than stress on things because I needed to finish a mandatory work.

workplace habits.PNG

The problem with me is I take everything personally. When I receive an escalation email, my mind would instantly think that the person is mad at me which is not the case. It’s just work, self!
If I have a word that a certain task is not worth doing, you better bet I will never do it. This is because I want everything I do to mean something. I am also having a hard time responding to superiority at work. I’ll rather have a boss that feels like a friend than a boss that thinks so highly of himself.

This made me laugh because yes! This is a hundred percent me! Every once in a while I think about what my life would be and I still believe I am quite lost and do not know where my life is heading or what I want to do in my life. I am always conflicted and my heart is usually whirring at a fleeting page.

I know I am hard to understand and most, if not all Mediator types are this is because we are usually guarded which makes getting to know us quite difficult. We feel everything so deeply. Mediators are the quiet ones who laughs a lot but deep down they’ve got a lot going on. What I love most about Mediators is that we just want the world to be okay and for everyone to get along and be happy.

Taking this assessment is so much fun! It’s understanding where you are right now and how you can expand this. It’s knowing how other’s preferences can relate to one other.

Let me know what your personality type in the comments below! 🙂

Top 5 Travel Bucket List

I wrote about the top places I dream of visiting. Take a peek and tell me what you think of these places!

img_1752I am a person who loves lounging around the house which explains why I am not big on travelling. I haven’t even gotten out of the country yet but of course there are some places that I wish I can travel to. I rounded up my choices and came up with this travel bucket list.

For at least once in our life, we should get ourselves out there and be a globe trotter for there is no better teacher than experience. Travelling is also unplugging from the hassle of your daily lives and being empowered by immersing in different cultures.

Here are my list in no particular order:

1. Rent a villa in BaliD-Chandrasti-Home.jpg

I have always, always wanted to visit Bali. I love tropical countries so much and for some reasons, looking at pictures of  Bali made me fall in love with the place. Bali has an unending list of beaches and also caters different activities for every adventurous soul. The accommodation choices in this island is awesome! Imagine having a villa all to yourself at an affordable price that is overlooking the beauty of nature. Amazing, isn’t it?!

2. Tour around the neighboring countries of EuropeCFBBTX-1680x1050.jpg

Need I say more? Every nook of Europe is picturesque and worth the visit. People who live here are lucky enough to travel to a beautiful country by train! Just thinking of travelling to this continent makes me giddy!

3. Shop at Los Angelessanta-monica-pier-sunset

I am not gonna lie. My agenda for LA is to shop at Target and all the other drugstores there and buy all the things my country don’t offer. Haha! I have been watching a lot of TV series and vlogs that I wanted to move to this city and find a job. I am amazed by the number of young people moving here to chase their dreams. The courage, drive and hard work that the people in here have, inspire me. Oh, and binge eat at the fast food chains!

4. Visit a local village in Fiji887792d3b2d72ad6caae0d8c8224fe83.jpg

There was this one night when I was watching Marcus and Kristin‘s travel vlog that I instantly listed Fiji in my travel bucket list. I dream of getting lost while riding a truck in this lovely place. Locals of Fiji are nice and friendly and it’s one of the reasons to visit.

5. See the Northern Lightstromso-norway-northern-lights-GettyImages-613887400.jpg

Who wouldn’t want to see the dancing, dazzling aurora borealis?! Imagine the nature giving you natural, magical fireworks. It is pretty awesome!

I hope I get to visit all these places. Have you been to any of these? Let me know in the comments and tell me what places you’ve been dying to visit!

Traveling awakens our enthusiasm in life. Go somewhere and brave the fear of unknown.

To All The Boys I Loved Before|What I Think About It

This is my lame attempt at writing a review about a film adaptation of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Okay, so these thoughts I’m about to spill is fresh because I just finished watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before! I feel so giddy and happy and all sorts of good mood!

The movie is based on the Novel written by Jenny Han. Basically, the story revolves around Lara Jean and the letters she had written for the boys she fell in love with. These letters which she has no intentions of sending out were kept hidden in a blue box. The catch? These letters was actually sent out!!! Yada, yada.. Let’s skip the story telling part and I’ll let you figure out the whole story by yourself. Go watch!

Now on to my thoughts about the film. First off, I’m gonna say that I do like it. Why? Because…

  1. There was  diversity in the castings. The main actress was Asian and that was pretty cool. I’ve read an article about the author’s interview wherein most of the production company who were interested in adapting the movie wanted to whitewash it.
  2. Though there were some differences between the book and the film, it was still portrayed fairly. I had no “wait, what?! this was not in the book” moments as I am with other film adaptations.
  3. The sisterly bonding was amaaaazing! It shows that your sisters always have your back, no matter what.
  4. Peter Kavinsky is such a babe!
  5. The art direction is pleasing to the eyes (as for me).
  6. I love the portrayal of the awkward adolescent experiences.

Overall, the film is endearing and is one of the good rom-coms that I have watched. It gives off the vibe that wants to make you fall in love all over again. The ending was properly set for a sequel. Netflix, we are waiting!

(This is short because I do not know how the freak do I write a review without spoiling lol)

Sunnies Face Fluffmatte: Are they worth it?

If you are from the Philippines, I am sure you already know what fluffmattes are. It created a buzz since their launching day and up until now people are scouting to grab a hold of these lipsticks.

If you are from the Philippines, I am sure you already know what fluffmattes are. It created a buzz since their launching day and up until now people are scouting to grab a hold of these lipsticks. It is still sold out as of the moment! Crazy, right?! It’s been two weeks already!

The collection has 9 shades and it claims to be a modern matte lipstick. With their tagline, “beauty that gets you” they also claim that their shades are universally flattering. The lipsticks are paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free and cruelty-free.

Luckily, I got three shades for myself and they were all beautiful! I was originally planning on getting all the 5 nudes but their website kept on crashing and their physical stores have blockbuster lines. Some lined up for 2-4 hours!

I can describe the packaging as minimalist, chic and classy. It really does target the millennial market. I like that they put the shade name at the bottom with the corresponding shade color (lol this is redundant but you get it, right?).

As for the performance, there is no tugging when you apply it, the opacity is a one swipe goodness. You can already feel how buttery and creamy the formula is on the first swipe. It is also lightweight which is a plus considering that it is matte. It does not accentuate dry patches and lines on the lips but for the longevity of the product, it does stay for a pretty long time and does leave stains. The staying power is amazing for a bullet-type lipstick but not as good as the liquid ones are.

The swatches above are of three different lighting. From top to bottom: Nudist, Girl Crush and 143.

I got the shades Nudist, Girl Crush and 143. They were all flattering on my skin color. The price point is reasonable for its performance. Nudist is the perfect nude for me but if you are darker than NC25, this might wash you out. Girl Crush is also a nude but leaning on red. 143 is mauve color and this I think will suit a lot of skin tones.

THE VERDICT: Worth the hype! But will I line up for this for hours? Probably no. Will I recommend? Yes.

Lip swatches below are: First two – Nudist; third and fourth – Girl Crush; fifth and sixth – 143

Things to do when stressed

Living in a fast-paced city with a day job and dealing with the everyday traffic not to mention the deadlines at work that you have to beat can get really stressful. Take a breathe and read on some things you can do to relieve stress.

Living in a fast-paced city with a day job and dealing with the everyday traffic not to mention the deadlines at work that you have to beat can get really stressful. It can be so draining that after a few hours of sleep at night, you’ll still find yourself waking up tired and grumpy.

Lately, I have been feeling stressed and it gets to a higher level each day. Thankfully, I kind of get the hang of it and turn my stress into something that would give me positive vibes.

In this post, I will share the things that I do to help me go about my stressful days. Check them out and let me know what’s on your lists too!

1. Write on a journal

My mind can get so clouded because I tend to think of a lot of things and it can get tiring. To help me organize my thoughts and release them, I write them down on my journal. It is an important part of my self-care and really helps in unloading the weight off my shoulders. You’ll be surprised on how relieving it could feel.

2. Spend time with my loved ones

Spending time with the people I love or people who are just naturally fun to be with lessens the stress i’m feeling. It is a breather for my chaotic mind.

3. Treat myself to something I love and enjoy

If I have been going through a stressful day and survived it, I treat myself to my favorite dessert or a massage.

4. Breathe

When I sense that things are getting out of hand, I step back, pause and go for a walk. Walking is therapeutic to me. That 10 mins of walk makes all the difference.

Stressful days won’t last and you do not have to burden yourself with it by drowning deeper to the stress that surrounds you. I also list down some things that you can do to relieve stress.

  • Do stuff that feels good – You may enjoy reading a book or doing creative activity like painting or just having a social media detox.
  • Eat foods that reduces stress – Chocolates and fruits are some of the foods that helps in relieving stress.
  • Exercise and Yoga – Take even a few minutes of your day to dedicating to exercise. This will surely enhance your mood.
  • Prepare for the morning the night before – choose the outfit you will be wearing, prepare the ingredients for the breakfast that you’ll cook or simply listing down your to-do list for the next morning helps a lot.
  • Listen to your favorite tunes
  • Call a friend
  • Watch your favorite film
  • Burn some candles or essential oils
  • Squeeze a stress ball
  • Reflect and pray

Remember that stress is non-essential and it is not adding value to our lives. However, it is a natural occurrence. You just have to know how to dim it down.

Manage yourself, take a break and set aside your worries.

I wish you stress-free days ahead! 🙂

The Joy List | Things that spark joy in my life

I have been a firm believer of how powerful the small things are. To keep track of these, I made my own joy list and you can too!

I have been a firm believer of how powerful the small things are. I kept repeating that there is beauty in the ordinary, mundane and in simplicity.

These small things are what comprise the bigger picture which we may not be aware of but they are the multiple chunks that bring the most joy to us.

To keep track of these simple things, I considered creating a joy list (inspired by Aileen Xu!) This is somewhat similar to the list of 5 greats wherein you list at least 5 great things that happened to you for the day. The joy list on the other hand is the list of things you can repeatedly do to bring you joy and uplift your mood.

My Joy List:

1. Going to the bookstore.

The bookstore is what I consider my safe haven. It instantly puts me in a good mood. I feel the pure joy just being surrounded by books.

2. Drinking coffee.

Sipping a good quality coffee on a slow morning where I do not have to rush to any meetings or do any task but to reflect on life gives me so much tranquility.

3. Completing my skin care routine.

This does not mean soap and cream, this is the complete 10-steps that I try so hard to follow. Lol. You know the things that feels so tiring when you think of doing but feels so fulfilling when you finally bust your ass off and do it? That’s how I feel with doing my full skincare routine.

4. Lighting a candle

I love scents and everything that smells good instantly relaxes me.

5. Doing my make-up

I have so much fun playing with make-up. I like experimenting with different colors. Make-up gives me more confidence and to me it is an artistic expression of myself.

6. Watching funny Youtube videos

When I feel so stressed, I like scrolling through Youtube and binge watching funny vlogs. These kind of videos make me laugh till my stomach hurts.

7. Laughing with friends

A simple chit-chat with my good friends and just laughing at ourselves is one of my pure joys. Having a good talk with a side of humor is what I really enjoy the most. Humor and jokes are really contagious and naturally brings joy that when you see your friends laughing, it feels like you are attracted to their vibe and it can instantly make you laugh too.

8. Eating a really good but cheap food

Finding delicious foods that does not break the bank is a gem. Street foods? Pastry in a kiosk? I’m in!

9. Watching the sunset

Sunsets are so dear to me. They calm me every time. I just love looking up and watching the majestic palette that the nature has. It never fails to left me at awe at its beauty. It’s my favorite thing in this entire world and I mean it. ❤

10. Going to the beach

My year wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beach. Sunset on a beach? That’s the ultimate combo for pure joy to me!

I have a lot more to list but this is just some of them to let you peek in. Always remember that joy can be found anywhere, even in the littlest of things, most especially in the littlest. I encourage you to list down the things that makes you feel most alive and find time to do it more often. It doesn’t matter how small or petty it is, as long as it makes you happy, do it.

I hope this sparks some inspiration in you to find joy in your lives.

I just have to plug in my earphones and that’s it. It also helps my imagination since you aren’t actually seeing what the hosts are saying so you just depend on their descriptions.

In this post, I will be sharing to you the different podcasts that i have been enjoying. Some are slowly helping me change my life for the better and some are for pure entertainment to help me kill time (You know, the never-ending traffic of my commute life).

“It’s super important to first establish the types of goals we truly want to manifest into our lives because it isn’t just about the goals, it’s about the problems that come with goals because problems are something that we all have…… you just have to find goals that bring you the kind of problems that you  want to solve.” – Episode 5, How to Kick Ass and Achieve Your Goals

Kalyn’s Coffee Talk is an upbeat (multiple coffees not included) and uplifting podcast to start your morning, or wind down your afternoon with – covering everything from wellness, mental health and learning to live your best life free from self-judgment and doubt. Kalyn’s Coffee Talk, hosted by Kalyn Nicholson.

I love how when I am listening to this podcast, it feels like I am sitting out to a coffee with a mentor and she’s pouring life lessons into me. I have always wanted to have a mentor and through Kalyn’s podcast, it kind of came true for me.

“You don’t have to have it all figured out, just keep exploring, don’t settle and you will find your way. Life is not meant to be lived in a straight, linear path. There’s no step-by-step way to get there. You just have to go through all these different experiences before ending up where you really need to be.” – LL 003, You don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out.

The Lavendaire Lifestyle is a podcast on personal growth and lifestyle design. Hosted by YouTuber and entrepreneur Aileen Xu, this podcast shares weekly inspiration on how to create your dream life. New episodes released every Sunday.

Aileen’s take on every topic is very relevant and inspiring. She’s like your life cheerleader that tells you to go after what you want in life and what excites you. Her podcast is basically the push that let me get back into blogging.

“For my perspective, I just think it’s a no I thibrainer. If someone is cheating on someone just be like, “Hey, dude. That’s not right.” Tell him.” – David, Cheating and Relationship

Views with David Dobrik & Jason Nash is a weekly podcast, David Dobrik, a 21-year-old, sexy, millionaire YouTuber and Jason Nash, a 40-something single dad with a vlog of his own, take you behind-the-scenes of their vlogs and show you what living the “YouTube life” is really like. Join these two as they confess their most intimate thoughts, discuss pop-culture, and dissect their own contentious relationship. New episodes drop every Thursday!

This podcast is my break from all the stress I have to go through in my daily life. David and Jason is hilarious and very entertaining which make me look forward to Thursdays. They open the podcast with something that will make you laugh out loud. Listening to them feels like hanging out with your friends after a busy day and hearing them rant about the most random thing that ever happened to them. This is such a fun podcast, you need to listen to this!!!

“That’s the one thing that triggers me. Like, why do I have to say thanks to everything? I’m the one giving you the information. I’m the one saying Hey guys here’s the stuff you need to finish your work…. It’s fine, it’s for decency naman and I will still continue doing that.” – Jim, Episode 3: Corporate Jargon

Wake Up With Jim & Saab the new parents  know how tough it is to find time for each other now that they’re working extra hard to pay the bills and to keep their baby boy Pancho happy & healthy. They’ve created this podcast to make sure they still make time for each other (in between actual dates, of course). They want to share stuff they learn with other new parents who don’t know what the heck they’re doing either. Most of the time they go way off track to discuss music, movies, and other stuff they love/hate.

I have been following Saab and her blog for a very long time now that I was so hyped when I learned that she’ll be having her own podcast with her husband. It is very interesting to listen to them tell their story about their daily lives in the Philippines and all that shenanigans that goes with it. Closed counters? Company jargons? Pandesal man in the morning? They have it all covered. The small annoying things that they point out are very relatable. They find humor in those things and just learn to live with it.

All these podcasts are reeking of new learning. I’m sure you’ll always have a key take-away with every episode. It is a fun and easy way to learn! These podcasts are also a great conversation starters! So if you want to check them out, you’ll find them all on Apple Podcast and Spotify. Happy listening! 🙂
