“”It’s nothing personal. You’re just part of the transaction.” Cameron Briggs always wondered what the strange birthmark on his shoulder meant. For his entire life, it seemed he was never meant to be anything special, that is, until the day it happened. Something dormant inside of him awoke. In the near future, birthright theft is on the rise, a vast network of dealers offering desperate buyers the chance to steal a more desirable next life. Their power and influence is absolute, with little standing in their way. However, unexpected anomalies in the process endow unique abilities to their victims who, once identified, are offered one chance – to save our world or destroy it, one Unborn child at a time. With the truth shrouded in conspiracy, Emma Jennings, a troubled but strong-minded young agent with a defiant reputation, is determined to prove these crimes exist. But in order to accomplish her goal, she’ll need to find the one victim who can turn the tide of her war.”

Have you ever thought of an answer to this phrase, “If I could only go back and redo everything, knowing what I know now…”?

Unborn by Daniel Gage is a story that deals about identity theft but with a twist! I love everything about it and the actions kept me browsing for more.

The idea is very unique and entertaining. It was properly curated and lives up to the imaginations of this generation. It is a story where the dealers used technology as a way of cheating death or making humans immortal by victimizing an unborn and making benefactors live the unborn’s lives.

It basically revolved around the Benefactor, Unborn and the Dealer. The Benefactor is the one who pays to undergo birthright theft. He/she is totally aware of his/her past life when transferred to a baby’s body. Birthright theft is just like reincarnation. The Unborn is the victim of this birthright theft. The Dealer are the ones who are responsible for the whole birthright process and they receive the payment and other significant items in return. They usually offer the deal to those who have a connection or access to this important thing that they need. Example, confidential documents of a company.

In regards to the birthright theft process, karma plays an important part here. The Benefactor gets all the good karma and benefits from it while the Unborn gets all the bad karma and whatever he/she does to make his/her life better, it just won’t work.

It was an action-packed book that I felt like I was watching a movie the whole time I was reading. I love how badass the girl main character was.

After reading the book, I kept on thinking of some scenarios like, “If I would be offered a new life to live and be immortal with a lot of money, will I call for the deal?”

So far, it was enthralling, good and a page flipper! I recommend this book for all the action/thriller fans out there!
