Book Review: Hopeless

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies. That’s what Sky Davis realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of their first encounter. Sky struggles to keep him at a distance, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. Unable to deny their intense connection, Sky finally caves to his unwavering pursuit. However, she soon discovers that Holder’s erratic and unpredictable behavior comes with a very good explanation. One that will ultimately test her faith in the hopeless boy she’s fallen in love with.”

Okay, so here goes….

I have to admit that with the first parts of this book, I almost gave up reading it. Not that it is not good but I just felt like the characters were hooking up too fast. Hahaha!

But holy cow, Colleen! I was really not expecting that plot twist! Colleen’s books always shock me and left me in awe. Always. The emotional punch that this book has is impressive. (Okay, this is starting to become a lame review because wth I am always speechless when it comes to Colleen’s books. Hahaha!)

Going back…

This book somehow attest to the saying, “truth will set you free”. I’ve seen how Dean hold back a part of him because the truth is gripping him back. Also, I felt the pain and grief that the characters went through. People really are not the same. We cope differently with our loss and some people fight their battles, hidden.

This book made me see life and its people in a whole new perspective. Sky and Dean’s story will make you swoon, cry and ask a lot of questions but the ending? I bet, you’ll love it so much. ❤️
